Is a technology used to illuminate and single out the aromas occupying the atmosphere around certain objects. Most often, the practice is put to use on naturally odorous or aromatic objects, like plants, foods, flowers, oils, resins, and various other kinds of organic materials, as well as various chemical compounds of interest. These techniques, and others of a similar kind, are used by perfumers to subject objects that possess interesting and intriguing scents, to a scrutinizing process that seeks to eventually decipher the makeup of the aroma of interest. After the information is deciphered, the scents of interest can then be recreated artificially, by the perfumer.
