Orange

An evergreen flowering tree that bears round, sweet, and fresh citrus fruit, of which, are among the most widely grown and cultivated fruits in the world. One of the most praised and sought after extracts from the orange is in fact, a by-product of the juice industry, which is known as sweet orange oil. This substance is rich in limonene — the compound responsible for the signature citrus aroma — and imparts a strong and vibrant scent into the oil’s fabric. Sweet orange oil possesses all of the characteristics associated with citrus, and also carries certain tangy and fruity qualities. It is commonly used as an ingredient in hesperids and floral perfumes, as it adds life and vibrance to the composition. It is also frequently found in colognes for men, for similar reasons.

The aromas of the orange extracts also change depending on what orange cultivar it is derived from.
